Farmer on Your Plate will return to Fremantle on Saturday 24 October 2026, bringing Western Australian farmers, producers, families and community members together for a free celebration of food, farming and regional connection.
Hosted by Farming Champions, and proudly sponsored by Manning Rd Farmers Market, the event will be held at Esplanade Reserve, Fremantle, offering families and visitors the opportunity to meet the people behind the food they eat every day.
Farmer On Your Plate is designed to strengthen the connection between city and country communities by creating a welcoming, family-friendly space where people can learn more about Western Australian agriculture, local produce and the role farming families play in feeding the state.
The event will feature Western Australian farmers, producers, growers, makers, agriculture-related displays, food education activities and opportunities for children and families to better understand the journey from paddock to plate.
Farming Champions spokesperson Nicola Kelliher said the event was about creating meaningful connection between consumers and the people who produce their food.
“Most of us enjoy food every day, but we do not always see the work, skill, care and resilience that goes into producing it,” Kelliher said.
“Farmer On Your Plate gives city families the chance to meet farmers and producers directly, ask questions, learn where food comes from and build a stronger appreciation for Western Australian farming families.”
“With growing interest in local food, food security and supporting regional communities, this event provides a practical and positive way for people to connect with agriculture.”
The 2026 event will also provide opportunities for sponsors, exhibitors and volunteers to get involved and support the delivery of a community event that celebrates WA farming and food education.
